Search4RSS – Completely Revised

Search4RSS has been long enough on the web and I know we have a lot of patrons. Inspired by couple of websites we have redesigned Search4RSS which is so good that it can be your new browser homepage. Search4RSS allows you to search multiple websites right from the homepage without having to open multiple browsers. The best part is that everything can be handled using keyboard shortcuts.

This version allows you to search across various engines. Just click on the logo or use the shortcut ⌃1 to switch between search engines Use ⌃2 to change the search option. Use ⌃3 cycles through other languages/options, if available.

Firstly I will like to thank all you great shoppers for making Fresh>Trailers a good success. I am working really hard on the next release which is due very soon and contains some cool new functionality you always wanted.

The second release of Fresh>Trailers contains a lot of changes from ground zero and so we had to get rid of some functionality in order to make it all work. And so lets first talk about what you might not see in the next release.

Removed the light bulb functionality on the video post pages as 90% of people who bought it did not like to have that and all most all flash videos have a full screen link on them
Remove the “Video Wall” background. I am still working to include this somehow, but having it there makes it harder for setting up user specified video size.

What’s coming?

Now you can control the video size from the admin settings.
Now you can have unlimited categories, as the navigation bar can display all of them with a “More” menu
The front page/archives videos can now be shown as gallery or detail mode
A Breadcrumb trail at bottom page for easy navigation
All heading and important text are CUFON generated text
A tab menu on the front page sidebar for Latest posts/tags/comments, giving more space in the sidebar for other stuff (read ads)
Redesigned “Related posts” section
Added fully functional page navigation (1, 2, 3… more) rather than previous/next link to the archive pages
Fix to not show the video bar when there are no video associated to the post

Google Wave

Well… Finally I got the invitation to Google Wave and I should be receiving my login info in couple of days. Really excited to develop some cool stuff for the WAVE. For those who don’t know what is Google Wave, I suggest you check see the Google I/O 2009 developer preview video. Google Wave is a new model for communication and collaboration on the web which might be released later this year. It is a mix of Email, Chat, Discussion Board, WIKI etc with a splash of social networking.

Fresh>Trailers updated to WP2.8

Recently we found that some functions are not working as expected in WP 2.8 and specifically the get_categories() function. We have updated the package and so all the new buyers should be OK. We will be sending out an email to all current owners to update their theme so as to avoid any issues.
